Kara White Principal Designer Kara White’s interior design career evolved out of her joy in bringing ideas to life. After dabbling in a variety of ways to do this, including graphic design and sales and marketing, she found her passion while decorating her first apartment. Later, she apprenticed in her husband’s family business, Mildred Thomas and Company, a three- generation interior design company in Cleveland, OH. Kara now delights in being able to share resources and ideas with the remarkable women who trained her. Kara spent the last many years focusing her prodigious creativity on the task of transforming houses (many of them in need of tender loving care) into beautiful, gracious homes. Recently, she added commercial spaces to her portfolio, bringing her talents for creating warmth and personality to such diverse businesses as dental, stockbroker, and acupuncture offices, a sorting / mailing business, and a healthcare facility for children. With experience in both residential and commercial design Karissa recognizes that each interior is a reflection of the client’s personality, and that a well-designed space is a delicate balance of function and beauty. Her impressive attention to detail ensures that the client’s interests, tastes and budgetary requirements are considered throughout the project. Her designs feel natural and understated, not fussy and overdone. Karissa’s interest in interior design stemmed from her love and appreciation of color and art, and has proven to be a perfect outlet for her creativity.
