Each job may include some or all of these steps : Initial meeting Define personal style Outline functions and requirements for space Design and prepare furniture and lighting plans Design and draw custom cabinetry Select color palette options Select materials and finishes for interior and exterior surfaces Select plumbing fixtures, door and cabinet hardware, and lighting fixtures Select tile for kitchen, baths, fireplaces, and floors Select floor coverings Draw space plans for furniture placement Design, select, purchase and install furnishings, window treatments, art and accessories Coordinate, organize, and oversee all work, installations, and deliveries The Design Process Initial Meeting: Here’s where we will outline the scope of the project. We may ask some or all of the following questions: What are the style and function requirements for the space? What are your interests and hobbies, favorite people and places, and anything else that might give us a better sense of who you are? What are your favorite colors to live in? To wear? Which existing pieces of furniture and/or art do you want to incorporate? Development / Presentation: Using what we’ve learned about you and your goals for the project, we will create sketches, floor plans, and gather fabric, paint, floor coverings, samples and photos to help us bring our ideas to life. When we ar satisfied – there’s almost always an experience of “Yes, that feels right!” – we will share our ideas with you, along with rough estimates on costs and timelines. This is a mutual, co-creative process, with you having the final word. Based on your feedback, we revise and refine our ideas until you say, “Yes, that feels right to me, too!” Implementation: Now the work begins. We will consult with the architect or general contractor, place orders, and coordinate and oversee carpenters, painters, electricians, flooring experts, seamstresses, and window treatment installers as needed. Completion: Ah, the fun part! we will organize and oversee installations and deliveries to ensure that everything comes together beautifully.
